Ideal Construction is a full-service construction company that was founded in 2001 by owner Jeff Hartung. Jeff has been involved in the construction industry nearly his entire life, with both his grandfather and uncle being union carpenters. Prior to starting Ideal, he trained at the local Carpenters Union 444, turned out as a journeyman, and worked on and managed a variety of projects in and out of town. His drive and attention to detail is what has helped shape Ideal Construction into the company that it is today.

From even the smallest repair, to a ground up building, we can provide you with a level of service that is second to none from start to finish. Jeff Hartung serves as President of Ideal Construction Company, where he brings decades of industry experience, operational insight, and principled leadership to one of the region’s most respected construction firms. His approach is deeply informed by a lifetime immersed in the trades, having grown up in a multigenerational family of skilled craftsmen. His grandfather and uncle, both master carpenters, and his father, a career mechanic, instilled in him a profound respect for precision, resilience, and the dignity of hard work.

By his early twenties, Hartung had earned his journeyman carpenter certification and quickly progressed to managing complex, large-scale construction projects. Leading teams well beyond his years in age and experience, he distinguished himself through a strategic oversight grounded in technical competence, clarity of vision, and an unshakable moral compass. His granular understanding of the construction lifecycle—from foundational site work to high-level project execution—continues to guide Ideal Construction’s commitment to exceeding expectations, site safety, and operational efficiency.

I am a dedicated construction professional with over 33 years of experience in the industry, including 17 years of loyal service with Ideal Construction. Known for my hands-on leadership style, I am committed to not only delivering quality projects but also mentoring and empowering our team to reach their full potential. My dedication to hard work and excellence sets a high standard for those around me. A primary goal is to ensure every customer is "satisfied that they made the right choice in using Ideal."

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife, Michelle, and our three children, Lexie, Brook, and Eddie. I have a passion for the outdoors and cherish family time. You can often find me on the sidelines, enthusiastically supporting my son at Skutt Catholic basketball games, hunting, fishing, or playing a round of golf.  My blend of professional expertise and personal dedication makes me a valued leader both on and off the job site.

With over 20 years of experience in the construction Industry, I have worked for both general contractors and subcontractors, serving in roles such as Project Manager, Director and Vice President.  I have built a reputation for leadership, precision and trust, with expertise spanning simultaneous management of people and projects, and developing early budgeting construction costs to guide clients in their decision-making.

I take pride in honesty, clear communication, and business foresight.  My strengths include delegating work effectively, staying organized, and maintaining a detail-oriented approach, which delivers results that meet both client and company goals.

In my free time, I enjoy camping with my wife, Ashley, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, and golfing as much as time allows.

Project Manager

I am a seasoned Project Manager, with over 35 years in the construction industry,

most recently contributing to successful projects at Ideal Construction. I am known for

my ability to manage field personnel in order to execute complex plans with precision,

ensuring every job is completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

During my tenure, I have played a key role in the completion of several multi-use

projects, retail, office and stand-alone projects throughout greater Omaha. I am an expert

at taking the vision of a client’s project through budgeting, subcontracting and completion

to the client’s ultimate satisfaction.

I have three children, Taylor, Tanner and Taryn, which I enjoy spending time with as well

as watching them become adults and contribute to society in a positive manner. When I’m not in the office or on the jobsite, I like to golf and socialize with family and friends.

Concrete Foreman

My name is Sage Tweton and my role at Ideal Construction is leading any and all concrete related projects. Anything from a new patio to a new parking lot. I have been in the concrete trade for roughly 25 years and 17 of those years have been with Ideal. I started concrete work while in high school and turned into a rewarding career. I love that no two jobs are the same and I have met some great people along the way while in this trade.  Ideal construction is more like family and I have made lifelong friends in my time here.  In my spare time, I enjoy camping, lake days on the water, and spending time with my wife and daughter.

I’m a construction and restoration professional with over 25 years of experience in water mitigation, fire restoration, drywall finishing, cabinetry, and full interior repairs. From 1998 to 2020, I led insurance restoration projects across a wide service area. I held active certifications in fire and water restoration through 2020 and have extensive experience managing both residential and light commercial jobs. Since 2020, I’ve continued my work with Ideal Construction, delivering reliable, high-quality results on every project.

Randy brings over 15 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, serving as a superintendent across a wide range of projects. His expertise spans home remodels, multi-family developments, commercial ground up buildings, restaurants, tenant finishes and daycare facilities. Known for his attention to detail, on-site leadership, and commitment to quality, Randy plays a key role in ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Outside of work, Randy enjoys an active and well-rounded lifestyle. He and his wife of 36 years love biking together, exploring local breweries, and reading. His passion for both craftsmanship and adventure makes him a valued team member and a well-rounded professional.

CDI/Concrete Division/Mechanic

I have been with Ideal Construction for 7 years and have multiple roles within the company. I have had my CDL for 10 years and I run the dump truck for the concrete division. I also run the container trucks that supply dumpsters for Ideal as well as customers. I have been a gear head most of my life and another part of my role is maintenance on machinery and small mechanic repairs. My other roles include miscellaneous labor as well as snow removal in the winter.

 

My time away from work is typically spent with my wife Emily and our three daughters Kyla, Aubrey, and Marley. The girls keep us busy with all their school and sports activities. Other hobbies I enjoy are cars, golfing, and watching sports.

I began my work career in a local lumberyard. After graduating high school, I traveled the country working various jobs in the industry. A pipe fitting equipment operations and a steel erection to name a few. I returned to Nebraska to attend college and worked with a landscape business for 10 years. With both residential and commercial building experience, when the opportunity came to become a commercial superintendent, it was a natural fit. I have worked for almost 36 years in the industry managing projects from high school remodels, to multi building apartment complexes. When not working I enjoy the country life and remodeling my home with my wife and dog.

Raised in Northern Wisconsin, I relocated to the Omaha metro area to continue my career, spending the last six-plus years specializing in commercial construction. As a father of three, I have also dedicated many years to coaching youth sports, a passion that has helped instill valuable leadership skills.

Project Coordinator

I play a part in many roles such as behind-the-scenes coordination of items including bid invitations, sending proposals, and approving contracts and purchase orders. I am also responsible for the accounts receivable side of things here. In my free time I enjoy playing and watching volleyball, spending all the time I can get on the boat in the summer, and reading a good book. Although I have no background in construction, I have already learned so much in the almost 2 years I’ve been here and I’m looking forward to many more years of growth at Ideal Construction.
