About Us

Ideal Construction is a full-service construction company that was founded in 2001 by owner Jeff Hartung. Jeff has been involved in the construction industry nearly his entire life, with both his grandfather and uncle being union carpenters. Prior to starting Ideal, he trained at the local Carpenters Union 444, turned out as a journeyman, and worked on and managed a variety of projects in and out of town. His drive and attention to detail is what has helped shape Ideal Construction into the company that it is today.

From even the smallest repair, to a ground up building, we can provide you with a level of service that is second to none from start to finish. As a leader in the Omaha area in office, restaurant, and retail tenant finish projects, our team will meet and exceed your expectations from the initial meeting to the finished product. After going through the Carpenters Union apprenticeship, working as a journeyman carpenter running projects in and out of town, all while having new baby at home, in 2001, I decided to go on my own and start Ideal Construction Company. Early on I developed relationships with property managers, brokers, and developers that I still have today.  Those relationships, word of mouth, integrity, and refusing to give up even when things do not go as planned is what has built this company over the last 23 years.   My goal is to give everyone that works here every possible opportunity to be successful, and every customer satisfied that they made the right choice in using Ideal.

Born and raised in Northern Wisconsin before moving to the Omaha Metro. I am married with 3 boys and when away from work I enjoy remodeling my house, fishing, and coaching youth sports throughout the years. I bring close to 35 years of construction experience, mainly in residential construction, with the last 5+ years being commercial construction.

With over 12 years of experience in construction, Mike combines skill, resilience, and a genuine passion as a Project Manager. He first discovered his love for construction in Wood Class, where he framed up his first room—a moment that ignited his drive to shape communities through construction.  Alongside his career, Mike has also served as a volunteer firefighter and is the Founder of Ignite Hope Alliance, a nonprofit focused on mental health advocacy, underscoring his dedication to making a positive impact on and off the job site. In his free time, Mike loves smoking BBQ and spending time with his wife, their two dogs, and their cat.

Aaron Hunter is a seasoned construction professional with 15 years of experience, including 8 years in project management. He has successfully managed a variety of projects ranging from complex ground-up developments to renovations and tenant finishes. Passionate about team building and client satisfaction, Aaron is committed to fostering collaboration and delivering high-quality results on every project. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, attending his kid's activities and playing golf.

Admin / Project Coordinator

Shae plays a part in many roles at Ideal Construction.  She handles the behind the scenes coordination of items including bid invitations, sending proposals, and approving contracts and purchase orders.  She is also responsible for the accounts receivable side of office duties. In her free time, Shae enjoys playing and watching volleyball, boating in the summer, and reading a good book. Although Shae has no previous background in construction, she has grown and learned so much in the almost 2 years she's been with Ideal Construction.

Doug Linderman is a dedicated construction professional with over 32 years of experience in the industry, including 16 years of loyal service with Ideal Construction. Known for his hands-on leadership style, Doug is committed to not only delivering quality projects, but also mentoring and empowering his team to reach their full potential. Outside of work, Doug enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children.  He enjoys the outdoors and can often find him on the sidelines, enthusiastically supporting his son's basketball games.

Concrete Division

Sage leads any and all concrete related projects. Anything from a new patio to a new parking lot. He has been in the concrete trade for roughly 25 years, 16 of them at Ideal Construction. Sage started concrete work while in High School and turned it into a rewarding career.  He loves that no two jobs are the same and has met some great people along the way.  In his my spare time, Sage enjoys camping, lake days, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
